You've carefully selected the members of your bridal party from those friends and family members who have a special place in your heart. They've been there for you through hard times, and times of joy and celebration. They're emotionally supportive, and always are there for a hug or a pep talk when you need one. Your wedding is no different. Let's face it, wedding planning is hard for everyone involved. Your bridal party might not be shelling out the cash for everything, but they do assist with choosing their day of clothing and accessories, they might pay for their attire, and they are likely helping you with planning, too, and then posing for all of those gorgeous photos on your wedding day. Show them your appreciation by picking thoughtful gifts for each of them. It doesn't have to be big or expensive, but something special to show them how much you love them. Check out these ideas from recent Sound Wave Events weddings.
Monogrammed glasses and a special toast while you're getting ready is a great way to loosen up a bit, and have a useful keepsake to be treasured throughout the years. Whether a mimosa or sparkling cider is your drink of choice, your girls (or guys!) will thank you for thinking of them. What about the groomsmen? Men can be so hard to shop for! They tend to not get all gushy over the same things that us girls do. Check out these initialed cuff links! Simple and easy to use over and over, your groomsmen will appreciate the subtle thank you for years to come. A fairly common option for the men is a bottle of their favorite alcoholic beverage, or a six-pack of their favorite beer. If you they don't drink alcohol, maybe a specialty soda or a gift card to a unique local food venue that they may have never been before. This photo was of the lucky groom, but gives you a classy idea for a photo of your gentlemen, too. Need more ideas? Chat with your Sound Wave Events DJ! We are here to help in any way we can. Don't forget to get some fun photos of your wedding party in a Sound Wave Photo Booth, and ask your photographer to get some shots of all of you together on the dance floor!

With wedding season around the corner, our ears are peeled for the best new weddings hits to play this summer. Hands down, this is on of our favorites! Andy Grammer has had great wedding hits throughout the years, and this one climbs the list. Check it out and add it to your favorite wedding playlist for 2017! Kristin Cole
Sound Wave Events Boise Wedding DJ, Photo Booth Also serving McCall, Sun Valley and Salt Lake City That is that pound sign thing that you are seeing at weddings these days? Back in the day, it was a shortcut on phone calls to find out who called you last (before caller ID) or to block your phone number from whoever you were calling. Why is it all over social media these days, and what in the world does it mean at a wedding?! Gaining popularity from websites and apps like Twitter and Instagram, a #hashtag (the pound sign thingy) is a way to link photos or posts of common subjects! It's pretty cool. You just click on it in apps where it's supported, and you can see posts that include just that hashtag in one place. For a wedding, using a unique hashtag phrase can help you and your guests put all of their cell phone shots in one place, for everyone to easily see and share! But Where Do You Put Them? The most common are social media websites like Facebook and Instagram. You can add a photo, write a little caption (#InsertBrideandGroomsHashtagHere), and post! If you are friends with the happy couple, when they click on their link from any post, or search social media platforms for it, your photo will pop up with any other's who have used the same hashtag. If the trendy hashtag isn't your thing, or you'd like a bit more privacy, there are several websites that have popped up just for the purpose of gathering photos from multiple people and devices! A few popular ones, listed below, can sometimes be a bit more user-friendly across multiple generations, gives you the ability to limit who can download and share the photos, and who can view them (password protection). Wedpics.com - Free for everyone, control over your photos, and available as an app through iTunes or the Google Play Store. There appear to be a lot of other cool features for your guests (lodging and transportation, etc), too! DropEvent.com - Free for guests to upload, lots of control over your photos, and inexpensive (starting at $10/month) to keep photos on their site. You can create multiple events (wedding, vacation, party, etc), and organize your photos into folders. Guests do not need to sign in or sign up for anything to upload their photos, and you can approve them before they go live on the website. AppyCouple.com - This is a site that has extensive customization options. From wedding planning, inviting guests, travel and lodging info, child care options, etc...This site seems to have a bit of everything, including a custom wedding website and app for easy access wherever you (and your guests) are. Sign up costs are one-time, either $39 or $89 depending on what features you want, with no commitments or monthly fees. There are several options for customizing privacy, inviting guests, guests can get to know each other through the app, and your account never expires. If you would like more options or ideas for how to get all of your guests photos in one place, ask your Sound Wave Events DJ, or shoot us an email! We'd love to help wherever we can. Still looking for a Photo Booth? After your event, you can share your Sound Wave Events Photo Booth photos to your shared website as well! These photos are so much fun, and a great way to get your guests in front of a camera, too!
We cannot wait to celebrate with you! Steph Scotton Sound Wave Events 208-891-0094 celebrate@soundwaveevents.com Boise DJ - Boise Photo Booth - Salt Lake City DJ Katy Perry, you've done it again! Something about this beat and "rhythm" is so catchy and makes you want to move your hips right along with it. This is an awesome summer song with it's light message and tone and I've really been enjoying it! So go ahead - roll your windows down, blare this song and enjoy the beautiful weather! Cydney Hayes Sound Wave Events Boise Wedding DJ Services Boise Photo Booth www.soundwaveevents.com 208-891-0094 We know that you have a very particular taste in music, and so do your guests! Not every dance or party song will get people movin' on the dance floor, and not every song that people love to dance to is regularly played. So how do you get your Sound Wave Events DJ to play your songs? Easy peasy. Check out these super simple ways to make sure your DJ hits play on YOUR favorite songs! Planning Session - The easiest way to get your songs heard is to talk to your DJ during your planning session, which usually takes place about 6 weeks before your wedding. You'll get a planning packet from us where you can give us a detailed timeline for your day, including what music you'd like played for key events (grand entrance, first dance, cake cutting, etc). There is an area for your favorite genres, Must Hear songs for dinner and dancing, and even a place to put songs you definitely do not want to hear. RSVP cards (or website) - Include a line on your RSVP cards where guests can indicate which song they promise to dance to! When you receive the cards from your guests, just make a quick list of their requests, and send it to us in an email! This gives you the added benefit of being able to filter your guests requests to ensure no songs you absolutely don't want played slip into the playlist. Song Request Cards - These are provided free of charge with every event DJ'd by Sound Wave Events! Your DJ can keep a stack of them at the mixer, or they can be placed on each guest table. Guests can choose up to three songs per card, as many cards as they'd like, and give them to your DJ during your reception. This ensures everyone hears a song that they love! Online Playlist - Websites are an easy way for you to add songs to your playlist from anywhere! Spotify is a great free site, and has a mobile friendly app! You can create multiple playlists (Dinner, dancing, key events, optional) and add songs from anywhere you have internet access. You can then share the playlist link with us, and we'll make sure your DJ has it ready! So, come on - Let's get this party started! Give us a call if you need song suggestions! We love to help :) Your Sound Wave DJ is a pro at his job and will read the crowd to see what's working, and adjust what's not. Our goal is for your day to be as stress free as possible, and get everyone having a great time! Our lighting and dance floors can help establish a dancing atmosphere, and our awesome Photo Booth is a great place to take a break and make some fun memories. We can't wait to celebrate with you! Kristin Cole Sound Wave Events Boise Wedding DJ Services Boise Photo Booth www.soundwaveevents.com 208-891-0094 Wandering aimlessly through the horribly addictive world of Facebook this weekend, I almost scrolled past this sponsored post. I rarely ever look at them, because let's face it, unless it's an awesome local business who has a legit product or service, they are usually junk ads. So I kept scrolling...then my brain registered what it was. Flowers? That last forever? Whaaaaa??!! So I scrolled back up and, of course, Facebook chose that exact moment to refresh itself. I didn't catch the name of the company to just type it in a search, so I frantically scrolled and scrolled and kept scrolling #becausefacebook, and FINALLY I found it! EcoFlowers! *Disclaimer! I have not ordered these, YET. But I'm working on it. After several minutes of browsing their website, I'm trying hard to convince my husband that we neeeed these flowers around our home. Not only do they make beautiful home decor items and flower arrangements, but they do custom wedding bouquets and bridal party accessories! So cool right?! How many of you loved your bridal bouquet and wished it would just stay looking beautiful forever? Well these will! How you ask? They are made from recycled wood and other eco-friendly products (check out their about section for more info)! They are carefully crafted to look like the perfect flowers you'd have in your wedding bouquet, and can be customized to match your colors (40 colors to choose from), and you can have scent added for free. Already married? Have you price-checked having flowers delivered recently? My husband had flowers delivered to me at work the week prior to Valentine's Day (they were beautiful, by the way), and it was $16 just for delivery! I don't know how much the flowers themselves cost, but he said they were quite spendy. So these awesome bouquets are very similar in price, and they'll last basically forever. These forever bouquets start at $39.99, and there is free shipping in the U.S. with every order! How cool is that? They are also having a 50% off sale right now (but ends tonight) for President's Day (use code PRESIDENT50). And they're based in Ogden, Utah! So pretty close. If you happen to be one of our amazing Salt Lake City area brides, you can even pick up your order! So, there ya have it. A great alternative to the traditional bridal bouquet and floral accessories, with the added bonus of home decor options! The bouquet pictured below is my personal favorite! It may have a silly name, but it is just gorgeous with the natural wood and fiesta red, with a beautiful silver brooch accent. I.Love.It. I think I'd get it scented with either Fresh Cut Roses or Strawberry Lemonade. Yummm. We do know that there is a huge draw to still have live flowers at your wedding. We LOVE beautiful flowers of the natural variety, as well as supporting local businesses. Check out our Trusted Professionals page for recommendations for florists we love to work with in the Treasure Valley. Happy Monday! Steph Scotton Sound Wave Events 208-891-0094 www.soundwaveevents.com celebrate@soundwaveevents.com Do you have a furry family member, or fur-baby? Dogs, cats, horses, goats, rabbits...they are very important members of our families! Please, make sure to include them on the biggest day of your life! You will love looking back at the photos years later, and they will love being their little social butterfly selves. So how do you include them? Well, first, make sure your venue is pet-friendly. Once you've got that part cleared up, check out these ideas. Oh.My.Gosh! How cute is that puppy's face?! Ok, so obviously to start with, photos are a great way to include your furry friends. They will probably be so happy to have the love and attention! Most dogs love the camera, and will strike a cute, happy-faced pose for you. Here are a couple more, because I just can't help it. Ring Bearer - While I don't have any photos of Sound Wave Events' weddings with a furry ring bearer, a lot of people love having their pups walk down the aisle with them! Ring bearers, pillow holders, honorary bridesmaid/groomsdog...any where in the processional that you'd like to put them, they are guaranteed to entertain, even if they get a little silly in the process. On Horseback - Are you a lover of horses? Maybe you're having a rustic, country or ranch-style wedding? Consider riding in on horseback, or if your horse it up to it, maybe a horsedrawn carriage ride to arrive at your ceremony location. Imagine how stunning your photos would be! Doggy Treat Bags - To cover two different needs at your reception, think about treat/party favor bags on each place setting. Maybe a cookie for your guests, and a treat for your fur-baby, for the guest to give to your pup while they are meeting everyone. (Just make sure it's ok for them to consume a substantial amount of the treat without getting an upset tummy.) Some things to remember - We all love our pets. We truly do. But there are a few things to remember:
As always, please let us know if we can help in any way! Your DJ can help with other ideas, too! Still looking for a Dance Floor, Photo Booth, or Lighting Design? We can help!
We look forward to seeing you, and your furbabies, at your wedding! Stephanie Scotton Sound Wave Events 208-891-0094 www.soundwaveevents.com celebrate@soundwaveevents.com Boise DJ Services - Boise Dance Floors Everything that goes into your big day, from planning the perfect party, choosing the best vendors, gown, tuxes, rings, flowers, cake, food.....THERE'S JUST SO MUCH! It can lead to a lot of stress and tears. But why? Let's try this... Take a deep breath. In, out. There. Feel a little better? Good. Your wedding day should not be stressful. You should be able to relax, eat, dance, HAVE FUN! How do you do this? Check out these fun ideas! Shoe Game - Quickly becoming a favorite at weddings. Bride and Groom sit back to back, with one of your own shoes in one hand, your partner's in the other. Your Sound Wave DJ will ask you some questions, and you raise the shoe for which person in your relationship best fits the answer. For example, 'Who goes to bed first?' You either raise your shoe, or your partner's. Fair warning, this game may lead to tears of laughter streaming down your face, so be sure your mascara is waterproof, mmk? Anniversary Dance - This one gets everyone in the crowd involved. In the traditional Anniversary Dance, You'd have whichever couple has been married the longest start out on the dance floor, every few seconds, your DJ will ask the couples who have been married next longest (15 years, 10 years, 5 years, etc) to join on the dance floor. Once they get to the newly married couple, the longest married couple would give a bit of advice on keeping your marriage happy for many years. This can also be reversed (Reverse Anniversary Dance), so that the longest married couple joins the dance floor last, then gives their advice to the newlyweds. Everyone dances, and has a great time. Take Fun Photos - Your photographer likes to have fun, too! Have a snowball fight, have the groomsmen wear super hero shirts under their tux, wear big, silly sunglasses, makes goofy face! Just have fun. When you look back through your wedding photos, you'll love that you took a moment to be silly. Just Dance!! That's what we're here for, right?! Let go of the stress, trust your vendors (they are awesome at their jobs), and DANCE! Your Sound Wave Events DJ will read your crowd, and will do everything they can to get your guests dancing. If you are out there, your guests will follow. If your dancing, they will, too! Get out there! Have fun. Not sure how to make this happen? Let us help! The Sound Wave family is here to make your day run as smoothly as possible. We will help coordinate key events with your vendors, make announcements for you, and keep everything as stress free as possible! Ok, let's do this again. Ready? Breathe in, breathe out. Just keep doing that. If you need help, just give us a call, or shoot us an email.
Stephanie Scotton Sound Wave Events 208.891.0094 celebrate@soundwaveevents.com www.soundwaveevents.com {Wedding Tips & Tricks} Honoring Those Who Can't Attend - Sound Wave Events - Boise Wedding DJ1/30/2017 Most of us have someone who we love dearly, who just can't be at our wedding, whether they've left this life, are deployed, or just can't make the trip. So how do we honor those loved ones, or show that we are thinking of them, and including them in our big day? Here are some of my favorite ways! A simple frame set up, with photos of those not in attendance. If they've sent a note, or if you have a sweet letter they gave you, even years prior, clip it up (or a copy of it) with the photo! This is a great way to honor multiple loved ones who couldn't be there in person on your big day. Photos or a keepsake on your bouquet! - This is such a sweet way to literally carry your loved ones with you down the aisle, and have them in your wedding day photos. Long after your bridal bouquet withers away, you will always have these photos as a reminder that they were with you on the biggest day of your life. Save them a seat - Placing an article of clothing, a photo, a sign, a flower...anything that reminds you of the person who couldn't be there. Saving them a seat, making sure your photographer gets great shots of the seat, reminds you, and other family and friends, of someone who you wish was there, taking part in your big day. Have a piece of their clothing sewn into your wedding gown! Your alterations specialist should easily be able to add in a bit of material from a special shirt, favorite pair of blue jeans, or your mother or grandmother's wedding gown into your wedding gown. All of these sweet signs - There are just so many ways to say that you miss someone, and are thinking of them on your wedding day. These signs are easy to make, many have printable options free online! All of these I found on Pinterest (which is a wealth of ideas for all thing DIY wedding decor). If you need other ideas, please do not hesitate to contact your DJ! Your Sound Wave Events family is always here for you. Get info on how to highlight any of the decor items by contacting us here. Check out our Photo Booth to be sure you capture all the fun with your friends and family who are able to join you, and Dance Floors to party the night away!
